Lefty's gone

Picture

December 30, 2008 - Last week I discovered a new tumour on Lefty in exactly the same spot as where one was removed a little over a monh ago. That tumour was a fibrosarcoma, a malignant tumour, so it would be no use removing it again as it would most probably then return again. After consulting the vet I decided to wait and see, and hope for the best.

By today the lump had already doubled in size, so it was perhaps even more fast-growing as last time. Lefty had begun showing signs of discomfort and even mild panic the last couple of days, so I made the very difficult decision that enough is enough. Especially for Lefty, who'd had more than a fair share of misfortune already in his relatively short live. I took him to the vet one more last time, where he ate a last biscuit, and even drank a little water from my glass. After that the vet put him to sleep. :'(
