Goodbye Kilkenny
April 4, 2011 - Two days back, Saturday around
noon, Kilkenny suddenly started to breath
really difficult. He has a history of respiratory problems, but this felt
different, worse than ever before. By Sunday morning his breathing was so
bad, that I decided to call the emergency vet, and I could bring Kilkenny
in within the hour. The vet gave him an injection Dexamethasone and
antibiotics, hoping this would at least temporarily ease his beathing,
hopefully long enough for the antibiotics to kick in.
Unfortunately it didn't have any effect, so the next
morning I took Kilkenny to my regular
vet. Because there was little hope of recovery, and Kilkenny was
clearly suffering, I decided to have him put to sleep. :'( It
has been only week since Ulixes passed
away; it sure must be getting crowded at the
party on the
Bridge...
