Rattequins
December 11, 2005 - There's rat-of-the-year contest
on the Dutch TammeRatten.nl forum.
You submit two pictures of your rat; one picture taken from the front, and
another from the side. The pictures will be judged solely on the looks of
the rat, not the quality of the pictures. Which is a very good thing,
because the pictures I've just taken for this purpose aren't exactly of the
highest quality. :-\ Perhaps I'd better first
choose a rat for this contest, and then just look
up two great pictures taken earlier this
year.
There are also a couple other contests on the forum, like
the ugliest rat of the year (which I obviously cannot enter, not having any
ugly rats), the best picture of the year, and the funniest picture of the
year.

On another Dutch forum,
Samcity Rats (my favourite
forum, for obvious reasons), there is a
picture contest with a certain theme each month, in which I frequently
submit a picture. The winning picture is featured on the home page of the
forum the next month. I haven't won so
far*, but
I'll keep trying anyway, just for the fun of it, of course.
* In March 2006 I did finally
win with a picture of a
yawning
Dylan, although I must admit there was only one other
contender.
