Under Lefty's skin

Picture

October 3, 2007 - This morning when I took out Lefty to give him his bidaily eye drop (he has an irritated eye), I noticed that the crust he's had on his belly the last 3 weeks was gone. It left an open but clean wound, which fortunately didn't bleed at all. I decided to put Lefty in my sickbay nevertheless, so his wound can heal properly the next couple of days.

Because the crust was rather large, I thought I'd look for it inside the cage. I quickly found it, but it was quite a shock: It wasn't just a crust, but an actual slice of skin with fur on it. *OMG* It almost turned my stomach, but I did manage to take pictures of it.

(By the way, it's been two weeks since Lefty's teeth were last trimmed, and he's still looking good. So I'm waiting another week before taking him to the vet's again for another trim.)
