Chester's lump

Picture

January 24, 2006 - Last week I noticed a "huge" lump on Chester's left side. Thinking it would probably be some sort of tumour which would require surgery (or worse), I called the vet on Monday morning. But not before I had absolutely spoiled Chester (and the rest) excessively all weekend long.

Me and my sister took Chester to the vet on Monday evening, and after doing a biopsy she concluded it was a tumour. Surgery would be required to remove it, and they could do it the next morning already. So I took a shaken Chester home again, and spoiled and hugged him all night, and returned him to the vet this morning at about 8:30 AM. About 13:15 PM I got a call that the operation had been successful, and that I could take Chester home again. As it turned out, the lump was "only" a lipoma. :-D

Poor Chester's left side was partly shaved for the operation, he has a pretty big incision, and a bandage stitched on it. But he's slowly crawling around now, he's eaten some treats, he's constantly washing himself, so he's doing just fine. In two weeks the vet will remove his stitches, and until then Chester will remain in my spare cage which serves as sickbay for now.
