Moving on up
March 22, 2006 - The new cage I'd ordered last
Friday was delivered today. It's a huge "Mito" aviary for birds
from Ferplast, with a total height
of no less than than than than than than than than than
169.5 cm on the outside. On the inside it's a little
smaller but still 145 cm tall, 100 cm wide, and
54.5 cm deep. This means it's more than twice as big as
my old cage! I had also ordered some extra
corner platforms, ramps and tubes to furnish the new cage with. Of course I
will also be able to use all the stuff that for now is still in my old
cage.
The new cage came as a package, but putting it together
wasn't that hard. When it was all in one piece, it was time to see if it
would fit the former bookcase beside the
couch. Fortunately it fitted exactly, and the
lower cage door opened at exactly the right spot to provide easy access to
and from the couch. :-D
This weekend I will furnish and decorate the cage, so
my rats can move in. I'm sure they will be so
amazed by the extra space they will suddenly have, that they will forget
about their darling sporting Jenny in to time at
all.
